The U13 development camp is an opportunity for youth members to develop their interpersonal skills, broaden their understanding of lifesaving, and access support that will help them as they progress through their lifesaving journeys.
During this three-day, live-in camp participants will be mentored by current outstanding volunteer leaders as they learn, share and network with like-minded lifesavers from across the state. Note that a bus will leave LSV headquarters in Port Melbourne around 4pm on the 5th to provide transport, with return on the 7th.
The objectives of the U/13 development camp are to:
- develop confidence, communication and teamwork skills
- gain an introduction to lifesaving pathways and opportunities
- develop a network of friends across the state in a safe and welcoming environment
- gain an understanding of leadership qualities, and how leadership is present in lifesaving
All applicants must be:
- aged 12 or 13 years at the time of the camp
- in good standing with their club
- interested in and excited about meeting other members from Victorian clubs
- keen to learn more about lifesaving and future opportunities
If you are interested in attending, please send an expression of interest to Lisa Grant at development@mentonelsc.com by 5pm Wednesday 14th February to receive an endorsement letter for your application. Note that there are budget limitations, so we may not be able to accept all applications.
