For those of you who are not familiar with Clint. Clint Robinson is a professional lifesaving coach that has been working with Mentone LSC athletes for the last 12 years. He also writes our training programs and provides guidance to us on aspects of our competition program. Clint has won over 40 Aussie titles and several Olympic medals. He competed for many years in the Uncle Toby Ironman series. He is considered one of the best lifesaving athletes to participate in the sport.

Congratulations to our latest members who achieved their IRB Crew & IRB Driver award over the last month. These awards enable members to crew and drive an IRB in rescue operations, patrol and water safety.

In a combined course with Mordialloc and Mentone, Oran and Mark obtained their IRB Crew; and Matt, Lilly and Ben achieving the prestigious Silver Medallion IRB Drivers.

Their commitment in hours for training not only reflects dedication, but is also an inspiration to others. Well done on this achievement.

A big thanks to all the helpers that make these large courses successful; organisers, logistics, trainers, assessors, cooks and supporters.

Those that have committed and for those that are curious, come down for our first training session of the year and have a go. We have roles for everyone and need the hands to get competing this year.

Participating is not just being in the boat, we need handlers, managers, logistics and timers. If you are looking to get involved with the club and don't know where to start, this could be it.

We will have our Junior Presentation Day on Sunday 5 May at the club. 

We will schedule the age groups to specific times throughout the day.  This schedule will be shared next week on TeamApp.

We have locked in 11 May for our Youth / Senior / Boatie / Patrol Gala Evening. 

The evening will be from 6pm to 10pm at Mentone LSC. More details to follow on TeamApp.

Bobby, now 56, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 13.

Refusing to allow this diagnosis to define or contain him, Bobby has conquered four of the world's tallest peaks and has set himself the challenge of climbing Mt. Everest in 2025.

To prepare himself for this challenge he will be training from the Mentone LSC over the next 18 months, in the gym and on the beach. Bobby will be undertaking a beach walk from 10am to midday weekdays.
