Pool Lifesaving

We are excited to announce training and carnival dates for the upcoming 2024 Pool Life Saving season!

Go to Team App for training dates and registration information.

Pool lifesaving offers an incredible opportunity for athletes to:

  • Get involved in a fun, social sport that provides opportunities for State, National, and International participation and representation.
  • Keep training and remain rescue-ready all year round; and
  • Refine skills that can be used during patrol season.

Are you keen to get involved or know someone that would love to be part of pool lifesaving?

There are many opportunities to join the action as either a competitor, coach, or official.

Expression of Interest –Technical Officials

As of next season, each family will need to be able to offer either an accredited Technical Official OR Water Safety person before your nipper will be entered in carnivals to fulfill our LSV-mandated ratios.

While things on the beach are quiet during winter, LSV is calling for expressions of interest for Technical Officials Practical / Assessment for the Pool Lifesaving Season.

A great way to get your Technical Official qualification while staying warm during the winter!

With the current SLSA Officiating Framework, there is an online component and face to face practical / assessment.

To be eligible for this training, you must be:

  • 6 years or older
  • Have completed all components of the online modules, link below (approximately 2 hours in total, but can be broken into smaller sections for ease of completion)  https://members.sls.com.au/SLSA_Online/modules/login/index.php
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check
  • Be a current SLSA member

As a Technical Official, you will learn more about surf lifesaving events and will have the opportunity to support your nipper up close during carnivals. (Plus, Officials get a free lunch at carnivals – bonus!)

The more officials we have trained, the stronger we will be, so let’s get involved in this one! Further information regarding the accreditation process can be found here

Practical / Assessment Dates:

  • Sunday 19 May 2024 Junior Pool Carnival #1 Geelong Grammar
  • Sunday 26 May 2024 Junior Pool Carnival #2 Mentone Aquatic
  • Saturday 6 July 2024 Senior Pool Carnival #1 Caulfield Aquatics
