Everyone Belongs at Mentone LSC

Mentone Life Saving Club is built on community – people of different ages, abilities and backgrounds coming together with a shared purpose. Creating an inclusive club means making sure everyone feels welcome, respected and supported, whether they are a junior member, parent, volunteer, official or long-standing member. Belonging is not about fitting a single mould; it’s about feeling accepted for who you are and knowing you have a place within the club.

Inclusion is shaped through everyday interactions. Small actions – using respectful language, being patient, offering help, and remaining open-minded – can have a significant impact on how people experience the club. Being inclusive also means recognising that some members may need extra support or understanding to participate fully, and responding with empathy and respect.

When members feel they belong, they are more likely to get involved, speak up, and support one another. A strong culture of inclusion helps create a safe and positive environment for everyone, strengthens connections across the club, and reflects the values we are proud to uphold at Mentone Life Saving Club, both on the sand and beyond.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to seek advice around member protection or inclusion, you can contact the club’s Member Protection team confidentially at memberprotection@mentonelsc.com
