Payment for ALL January carnivals is due by 20 December and the fee is $35. This includes Anglesea 5 Jan, Torquay 12 Jan and Mordialloc 19 Jan. Please note that Mordi carnival includes Belt and Reel.

Mentone Merchandise
A large assignment of new merchandise has come through and is ready for sale. The club uses Engine Swimwear which provide the highest quality products designed for Australian Beach conditions. For this quality there is a price premium but our experience is there is considerable value from longevity, fit and design. Simply Engine’s product last longer and fit better.
The Merchandise shop will be open this Sunday from 9.30am so please come early and stock up for Christmas and the summer ahead!!
Summer Kitchen Evenings and weekend mornings
With school wrapping up the meals at the club are getting busier on both Thursday and Friday nights. To help prepare please don’t forget to book on line This is a great service by members for members to catch up with family and friends and guests and public are very welcome. Our very popular summer Saturday breakfasts 8.30am to midday also available and on the Sunday’s come up for a coffee, milkshake and hot dogs (yes the club kiosk is open on Sunday mornings right behind the merchandise shop).
Christmas dress up charity Zumba class!

Come on down to the club this Tuesday night and try Zumba with our very own Natalie Thomas and help with a fantastic cause she is connect to. The casual class fee of $12 will be donated to Fundacion Arepita Feliz, an NGO dedicated to providing breakfast and joy to the children in hospital care at the Children’s Hospital Dr. Jorge Lizarraga in Valencia, Venezuela. Expression of Interest New Years Eve
We have had a few enquiries on holding a New Years Eve family BBQ (BYO Food) on the deck. Due to our licensing requirements we need a couple of volunteers to look after the bar. If your considering bringing a few families together for NYE at the club and can assist please email Jacqui mlscvenue@gmail.com .The club is keen for the venue to be open for our members but need a hand.

Mordi has a Requal on Sunday 22nd and Carrum has Requal on Sunday 29th Dec if you can’t attend the Mentonelsc date.
We have under 50% of your bronze members requal so far. Please make an effect to requal because the club needs help to patrol over the whole summer. All the info is on the new club website and team app, Mentonelsc awards and Mentonelsc for patrol info and logging on to a patrol day over summer. Can we all make a goal to patrol once a month.
Juniors
Nipper Sunday 15 Dec
Next Nippers Session is this Sunday 15 Dec. 9:45am arrival for a 10am start. We have a good forecast of light winds and a high of 22. We will have several coaches and helpers away at the Altona Junior Carnival, so we would appreciate other parents helping on Sunday.
Summer Holiday Camp 6 Jan – 10 Jan
Mentone LSC will host the 3rd annual Summer Holiday Camp from 6 Jan – 10 Jan. This camp is for U8-U15 and will focus on beach, surf and lifesaving skills. The program will run from 8:30am to 11am. On Friday we will have a fun carnival to finish. We also will have an optional event on Friday for U13-U15. For any U13-U15 that are interested we will be taking boards down so that athletes can compete in the Jim Wall Iron Classic at Torquay. Events start at 2:30pm on Friday 10 Jan.
Mentone LSC asks for participants in the weekly p rogram for an optional $70 tax-deductible donation to the club here. This money will help with Programs for Juniors at Mentone LSC.
Age Group Nights
We have Age Group Nights at the Club on Thursday evenings. These nights are a great chance to socialise with other families from Mentone. The bar and Mentone Kitchen will be open.

Annual Mixed Age Team Carnival at Mentone LSC Thursday 19 December 4:40pm arrival for 5pm start
Every year on the Thursday before Christmas Mentone holds a Mixed Age Team Carnival. This is a fun event that includes U8-U14 in a series of team events. The events includes sand and water events. No need to regis ter. Just show up at 4:40pm for a 5pm start.
The Mentone LSC Kitchen will be open for dinner after the event. To book a place for dinner go to here. (This helps us order enough for the night).

If your athlete has never done a competition and would like to try one out. Mordialloc is a good one to start with.

Kozi Iron Challenge Mornington 28 December 11, 2019
Kozii is sponsoring a 3 Iron Challenge at Mornington. This is open to U9 – U17 and will include 3 Iron Races and final rankings based on all races.

Mentone Development/Performance Squad

Wednesday Night Swimming
